James E. Permenter, 92, of Dyersburg, father of Jeanie Babb of Union City, died Sept. 30, 2007, at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg, with interment following there in Fairview Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Williams will officiate and pallbearers will be Drew Babb, Devin Babb, Alan Permenter, Jason Atchison, Daniel Gray and Scott Canada.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening.
He was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics, where he had worked more than 20 years, and was also a farmer. He attended McCullough’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his wife, Thelma Permenter; three other daughters, Marie James, Glenda Webb and Joyce Atchison, all of Dyersburg; his sister, Mary Sue Alfred of Paducah, Ky.; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Clem (Childress) Permenter; his son, James Permenter Jr.; his sister, Zeller Thompson; and three brothers, Alan Permenter, Perry Permenter and Buford Permenter.
