The Central FCE Club met on Sept. 12 at the Station House Restaurant in Palmersville with 24 members and one visitor, Mrs. Pat Lowry.
President Jerry Seamans called the meeting to order at 10:45 a.m. and read a thought for the day. Beverly Stott gave the devotion reading “The Paradox of Our Time in History” by George Carlin. Minnie Parham led in singing “America.” We said the Pledge of Allegiance to the U. S. flag and repeated the club collect. Roll call was answered with “Tell about your child’s first day at school,” with members reporting the number of sick visits made.
Secretary Martha Lamb read the minutes, and Treasurer Brenda Winstead giving the financial report. Evelyn Gallimore reported sending 12 cards from the club.
After lunch, we discussed matters of interest to the club and discussed the club meetings for the remainder of 2007.
Due to the absence of our program leader for today, the leader’s report will be given at a later date.
Carolyn Maxey and Hycinth Smith gave show and tell. Door prizes were furnished by Jessie Mansfield.
President Seamans adjourned the meeting by reading, “White hair is a crown of glory and is seen most among the Godly,” from Proverbs.
Announcements: Oct. 1 – Pearl Farm Tour, Oct. 11 – Fall Craft Workshops and FCE County Council meeting.
