Hornbeak Volunteer Fire Department will receive a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to improve operations and safety, according to an announcement from Congressman John Tanner.
“Our firefighters are instrumental in protecting our communities, and it is important that we provide these men and women with the tools they need to do their jobs safely,” Tanner said. “Providing our first responders with the resources they need is also a strong message of appreciation for the hard work they do.”
The $42,370 grant is available through the DHS Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Tanner represents Tennessee’s 8th Congressional district in West and Middle Tennessee.
