Authorities search for Woodland Mills bank robber
Authorities are continuing to investigate Saturday morning’s robbery of a Woodland Mills bank.

The Farmers Bank on Thompson Street in Woodland Mills was robbed about 10:40 a.m. Saturday by a masked gunman, according to Obion County Sheriff Jerry Vastbinder.

The man allegedly showed a teller a gun that he had hidden in his waistline and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen traveling toward the nearby Kentucky border in a small white van, Vastbinder said this morning.

No injuries were reported in the mid-morning incident.

The suspect is described only as a white male, about 5-feet-10-inches tall.

The robbery remains under investigation today by the Obion County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is involved due to the incident having occurred at a financial institution. Vastbinder said anyone who has any information about the robbery is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 885-5832 or the FBI.
