Drag racing is back on track in Gleason



The rubber met the road again Saturday at the Northwest Tennessee Motorsports Park in Gleason.
In the Super Pro class, Joe Wallace, from Gilbertsville, Ky., drove his 1969 Camaro to victory at a speed of 111.09 mph. Taking second was Parsons resident Willie Mills in a 1955 Chevy.
In the Pro/Footbrake division, Mayfield, Ky., resident Lucas Walker topped Dresden’s Mike Peeler. Walker drove his 1993 Mustang to a speed of 100.88 mph, while Peeler’s 1969 Roadrunner peaked at 99.84 mph.
In the Street division, Bub Morrison from Clarksville sent his 2007 Chevy out at a speed of 68.06 mph to take the win over Matthew Epperson from McKenzie in his Grand Am.
In the Junior Dragster division, Huntingdon resident Kirsten Smith took first place, while Lawson Roberts from Gleason was the runner-up.
