Floyd Alvin Staten Jr., 70, of Union City died 1:50 a.m. Jan. 20, 2013, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Revs. Jerry Leggett and Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Van  Hazlewood, Dennis Mires, Joseph Brasher, Brian Hughes, Charles Connell and Royce Morgan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services Tuesday.
He was born April 12, 1942, in Crittenden County, Ark., son of the late Floyd Alvin Staten Sr. and the late Elsie (McIntosh) Staten. He married the former Donna McCullough Aug. 28, 1966. She survives. He was a retired food inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A member of Second Baptist Church in Union City, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is also survived by three daughters and his son-in-law, Sandra and Darren Doss and Connie Bargery, all of Union City, and Suzanne Staten of Columbia; five grandchildren, Rebecca Bar-gery, Emily Bargery, Lacy Bargery, Jackson Doss and Jonathan Doss, all of Union City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca and Perry Jarman, Margie and Don Fuller and Sarah and Joe Odom, all of Paragould, Ark.; his mother-in-law, Dorothy McCullough of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Jeff Fuller.
