| New app offers help to disaster victims |

Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services is partnering with the software developer Voxer to offer a special app for disaster victims and mass shooting victims to communicate via voice, text and images with emergency services through dedicated channels when traditional phone land lines are down.
The intended product will be named the “Together for All” app.
NTDS will offer a free version to the general public with additional upgrade options. Inclusive options are an earthquake detection/prediction function, hands only CPR instructions, first aid instructions, a shelter locator function that provides the addresses of area activated shelters, a flashlight function, a donation link for the NTDS agency, a voice activation function, a link back to NTDS’s official website and a non-cellular dependent, two-way communications upgrade.
“We are currently seeking participants to be part of our Beta program,” a spokesman with NTDS said.
Qualified participants include Obion County-based fire departments, rescue squad, law enforcement, hospital/medical and department of education personnel.
