2013 field day schedule released by UT AgResearch

University of Tennessee AgResearch is continuing outreach efforts with 12 field days and five special events planned for 2013.
With a schedule as diverse as the producers of this state, the events will offer growers and consumers alike a chance to learn about the latest information in agriculture and gardening.
The field days and special events will be hosted at the university’s AgResearch and Education centers, which are located throughout Tennessee. It is at these facilities that UT’s agricultural scientists conduct much of their research. At the field days, visitors can examine the research trial results, see new demonstrations and speak one-on-one with UT experts. Plus, most field days feature a trade show where vendors display new equipment, products or crafts.
A few changes to the field day program include the location of the Ensuring a Healthy Forest field day, which will be held at the AgResearch and Education Center at Ames Plantation in Grand Junction. Additionally there are two name changes. The Forest Resources field day will now be known as Woods and Wildlife and the Green Industry special event will now be titled Summer Color.

All field days and special events are open to the public and most events offer free admission.

UT AgResearch operates 10 outdoor laboratories at strategic climate and topographic locations throughout the state. In addition to its agricultural research programs, the UT Institute of Agriculture also provides instruction, research and public service through the UT College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, the UT College of Veterinary Medicine and UT Extension offices in every county in the state.
