Vehicle part stolen

A catalytic converter has been reported stolen from a church vehicle at Second Baptist Church in Union City. The part was taken sometime between Dec. 27 and the time the theft was discovered Sunday morning, according to a Union City Police Department report. The catalytic converter was taken from the 2007 Ford F-450 van while it was parked on the church parking lot off Everett Boulevard in Union City. A church member told police the vehicle was last started about 7 a.m. Dec. 27 and the item was discovered missing about 8 a.m. Sunday by one of the church bus drivers. The replacement cost of the part has been estimated at $1,800, according to the report.
