Abundant Life Assembly of God – Sharon

Posted: Thursday, January 17, 2013 6:00 pm
By: By Mary M Jones

Bro. Bobby Peal opened our service by singing "Heaven Came Down."

Edna Johle taught the adult Sunday school lesson from Titus 3:7. Only by God's grace can we live the abundant life.  Our special guests were Mike Brown and his two lovely daughters.

We sang "Happy Anniversary" to Bea and Jesse Doster.

Prayer requests were made with special mention of Vickie Wasniouski and her brother Keith; Della Freeman and her husband Larry, who is in the hospital in Nashville; Martha Kotarba, who is home recovering from illness; and Phyllis Gwin, who is in the hospital.

Patsy Baker sang "I'd Rather Have Jesus." Shirley Bynum and Mary sang "How Great Thou Art." Harvey Dildine sang "Just Any Day Now."

Bro. Bobby titled his message "Paul's Thorn" from II Corinthians 12:7. Seek the Lord before you try to help someone in need, as circumstances sometimes change, but if the Lord clears the way, then listen to His bidding and give aid. When you are in the body of Christ, it is only natural to feel compassion when one of your own family of God is in pain or has a need.  God is aware of your needs before you ask.

To open the evening service, Mary and Shirley Bynum led "Thou Art Worthy," "Bless His Holy Name" and "Amazing Grace." Edna Johle and Patsy Baker sang "Baa Baa Sheep." Edna sang "It Made News In Heaven." Bro. Bobby sang "I'm Homesick For Heaven" and "This Is What Heaven Means To Me." Mary sang "There Is Power In the Name Of Jesus."

Bro. Bobby turned to Hebrews 13:1-3 titled, "Let love continue." We need to increase our love for the Lord to grow in our love for God. It will bring peace and joy to those around you.

Bro. Bobby then called the people to the altar for prayer for the needs of others and for our leaders of our country to make wise decisions.
