‘Duck Dynasty’ cast members to appear at school fund raiser
The Duck Commanders are coming to Murray, Ky.
The Calloway County High School football team will have the stars of the hit TV show “Duck Dynasty” on the A&E channel in Murray for a fund-raising event May 11.
“We are thrilled to have this event and these great men in our school,” Lakers head coach Brad Lawson said. “Duck Dynasty is one of the most popular shows on television now and to have them in our gym benefiting our football program, it’s just amazing. It’s just going to be a great night for Calloway County High School, our program and our community.”
Tickets will go on sale to the general public Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the commons area of Calloway County High School. General admission tickets are $60, while meet and greet tickets are $125.
Scheduled to appear are Phil Robertson, Willie Robertson and Si Robertson.
As a high school athlete, Phil Robertson was all-state in football, baseball and track and attended Louisiana Tech on a football scholarship. There, he played ahead of four-time Super Bowl winning and Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw.
After college, Phil spent several years teaching until he produced a duck call in 1972 and Duck Commander was born. During this time, Phil also turned his life over to the Lord and not only is he known as the Duck Commander, he has built up a reputation all over the country for his faith.
He is invited to speak at hundreds of different churches and organizations every year, telling them what the Lord had done for him and can do for them. Phil is married to Kay and they have four boys — Alan, Jase, Willie and Jep.
Willie Robertson is the CEO of Duck Commander and graduate of Harding University.
He also created Buck Commander, which can be seen on the Outdoor Channel. Willie loves being outdoors and is happiest at home in West Monroe, La., with his wife Korie and children John Luke, Sadie, Will and Bella.
Si Robertson, the younger brother of Phil Robertson, can be seen on the Duck Commander videos and also on the TV show “Duck Dynasty.” He has worked for Duck Commander since 1993, when he retired from the U.S. Army. He lives in West Monroe with his wife Christine.
There will only be 2,200 general admission tickets sold and 200 meet and greet tickets. If any tickets are available after the initial sale date, they can be purchased at Calloway County High School from Lawson or athletic director Chip Gray.
For more information, contact Lawson at (270) 762-7374 or email at Donald.lawson@calloway.kyschools.us.
