Union’s Rechis honored by TSWA

Union’s Amber Rechis earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades after hitting seven 3-pointers and averaging 16.5 points in a pair of wins last month.
The Martin native and past Westview Lady Charger standout made four trifectas and finished with 16 points in a victory over Rust College. She was 6-for-14 from the field overall and added two assists and one steal in the contest.
Rechis followed that with 17 points, including three more 3-pointers, in a win over Virginia-Wise, going 7-for-12 from the field with one assist.
Rechis joins teammate Amy Philamlee as Lady Bulldogs to win this honor this season.
Union has won five straight contests and returns to action tonight against Delta State. Published in The WCP 1.3.13
