UC fans can sponsor
player, cheerleader

Union City’s playoff dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Commons Area of the high school.
Parents, friends and fans are encouraged to sponsor players and cheerleaders for the meal, which will be one day before the Golden Tornadoes’ TSSAA Class 1A playoff second round game against either Huntingdon or Lake County.
The catered meal will include steak and all the trimmings.
Cost is $20 per player and $20 per sponsor, and reservations should be made by noon Wednesday.

Reelfoot Road Race
slated for 34th run

The 34th annual Reelfoot Road Race is scheduled for Nov. 10 at Union City High School, beginning at 10 a.m.
The event is the oldest 10K race in Tennessee and also features a 5K race. There are expanded age groups for men and women in each race with trophies going to the top three finishers.
Entry fees are $15 in advance and $18 on race day. Team rates for schools with more than three entries are $12 in advance and $14 on race day.
Long sleeve T-shirts will go to the first 150 entrants.
Registration on race day begins at 8:30 a..m., and advance registration must be done by Tuesday.
Entry applications are available at Heath Quest, Hibbett’s, Doctors Clinic and the website www.reelfootroadrace.com.

UT Martin selling
season hoop tickets

Season basketball tickets for UT Martin are on sale now at the Skyhawk Ticket Office.
The tickets include 23 men and women’s home games and all doubleheaders in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
Chair seats are $75 each. For more information call Jenny Canary at 731-881-7207.
Individual game tickets are $14 per chair seat and $10 each for general admission.
Fans can check out seats at two free exhibition games before the regular season.
The women will host Martin Methodist at 7 p.m. today while the men will host Illinois College at 11 a.m. Friday in the annual Character Counts game. Published in The Messenger 11.1.12
