Holt named director of Ken-Tenn Alliance
Holt named director of Ken-Tenn Alliance | Holt named director
of Ken-Tenn Alliance
Martin resident Hollie Holt has been named the new director for the Ken-Tenn Regional Alliance.
Mrs. Holt has a strong background in economic development and is very familiar with the local area.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin, majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations. She served as the director of the Martin Economic Development Corporation for the City of Martin for three years and also served as the director for the UTM Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development enter for six years.
The Ken-Tenn Regional Alliance covers six counties in northwest Tennessee and southwest Kentucky.
Mrs. Holt grew up in Fulton and currently lives in Martin with her husband, Steve, and their four children.
“With my economic development background it seemed like a natural fit for me to assume this position,” Mrs. Holt said.
She said she sees her appointment as a great opportunity for her to work with two states that are poised for economic development.
“I am passionate about working each and every day to make this region a better place for generations to come,” Mrs. Holt said. “Ultimately, I hope to assist these communities with job creation and job retention. With three river ports along the Mississippi, the construction of I-69, the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport in Obion County and the University of Tennessee at Martin in close proximity to all six counties, this region is ready for jobs and industry. I will be supporting the local economic developers in their pursuit of industry and new business.”
Mrs. Holt began her position on Sept. 17. The position was previously held by Brad Thompson.
The Ken-Tenn Regional Alliance encompasses Fulton, Hickman and Carlisle counties in Kentucky and Obion, Lake, and Weakley counties in Tennessee.
Fulton County Judge/Executive David Gallagher is the KTRA chairman and Hickman County Judge/Executive Greg Pruitt represents Hickman County on the board. Published in The WCP 10.2.12
