UT Martin, SEMO
battle to soccer tie

Two overtimes and 110 minutes of play were not enough to decide a victor at Houck Stadium as UT Martin tied Southeast Missouri 1-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference soccer opener for both squads Tuesday.
The Skyhawks (3-4-3) keep their unbeaten streak alive at four matches, having not lost since Sept. 7.
UT Martin outshot Southeast Missouri by a 19-11 margin, putting 13 of its attempts on goal. Kendyl Wilson continued her spectacular senior campaign with her team-high fifth goal of the season in the 33rd minute. Credited with the assist on the play was Dominika Conc, who tied a team-high with her third helper of the 2012 campaign.
Mariah Klenke made four stops in all 110 minutes in goal for UT Martin. The stellar performance lowered her season Goals Against Average to 1.41.
The Skyhawks evened the score at the 32:32 mark, when Wilson found the back of the net for her 11th career goal, which ranks seventh all-time in UT Martin soccer history.

Good start not enough
for UTM volleyball

UT Martin claimed the first set in its Ohio Valley Conference match at Southeast Missouri, but the Skyhawks couldn’t hold off the Redhawks in a 1-3 loss (25-19, 19-25, 12-25, 13-25) Tuesday night at Houck Fieldhouse.
Sophomore Emily Keaton led the Skyhawks (5-11, 1-2 OVC) in kills with 11.
Dallas Zimmerman hit .389 with nine kills (against only two errors in 18 attempts) while Lynsey Hazelwood picked up eight digs for UT Martin
Amanda Crask tallied 32 assists and Kasey Elswick recorded a team-high 17 digs for the Skyhawks.

Skyhawks’ Elswick
showing ‘CLASS’

Kasey Elswick, a senior on the UT Martin volleyball team, has been selected as one of 30 national finalists for the Senior CLASS Award.
To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division-I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence — community, class-room, character and competition.
Elswick is UT Martin’s all-time career digs leader with 2,218.
