During the 2nd Annual Rick Wilson Benefit, they raised $6,500 to benefit the groundbreaking research and lifesaving care of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The total was revealed by the owner and volunteers at Cadillac’s during a check presentation to St. Jude. Over 900 supporters including 20 volunteers participated in the event. During the event, the supporters enjoyed food and nonstop entertainment. Joseph Castleman organized the bands which included Crooked Creek, Cobra Cats, Heavy Eyes, Lew Minx, Stella Ruth, Avonlea, Leavin’ Sunday, Badlands Radio and Jason Webb. “I was so glad to get a call from Cadillac’s letting me know that they had raised so much for St. Jude. The Martin community definitely showed how much they cared by supporting this event and I can’t thank them enough for that.” Mykila Cobb, Event Marketing Representative The event is an annual affair held in honor of former Cadillac’s owner, Rick Wilson, who was passionate about supporting St. Jude before he lost his battle to cancer. This year’s event surpassed the $5,000 goal Nanney had set, and far exceeding last year’s total of $4,000. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.
