Union City Elementary School students Selena Burrow (left) and Kayde Andrews took turns holding and petting a baby chick provided by Tyson during Obion County Farm Bureau Farm Day Wednesday afternoon at the Obion County fairgrounds. The annual event is organized by Farm Bureau and is for fourth-graders in Obion County. They spent part of their day learning about farmers, corn, cotton, soybeans and wheat, as well as cattle, horses and wildlife. They were treated to popcorn, soda and apples and joined in a performance by Cowboy Dan. Farm Day will be the subject of Wednesday’s Friends and Neighbors page feature. |
