Deadline approaching for Soybean Talent Show

The deadline for entry into the Soybean Talent Show is Friday. Entry forms are available at the Soybean Festival website, www.tnsoybeanfestival.org or by sending an email to Linda Ramsey at lramsey@utm.edu or by phone at 587-5549.  
Entry forms should be returned to Ms. Ramsey by Friday. The entry fee is $20 per act, and competitors can participate in vocal and dance solo or group, and variety acts. Entry fees can be paid  the day of the show.
There are four age categories: 8 years of age and under; 9-12 years of age, Jr. Division for Mid-South Fair; 13-21 years of age, Mid-South Fair Preliminary  Division; and 22 years of age and older.
The show for 8 and under and 9 to 12 begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 3, and contestants must check-in to participate at 5. The show for 13-21, and 22 and older begins at 7 p.m., and contestants must check-in to participate at 6.
If you are being accompanied by music, please provide a CD, and the length of your song should be no longer than four minutes, for the Mid-South Fair competition.
There will be awards given to the 1st and 2nd place in each division, and in the Mid-South Division there will be an Over-All Winner, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. The Over-All Winner of the Mid-South Division is invited to participate in the Mid-South Fair Talent Show in September, which will be held at the DeSoto Center just outside of Memphis in Desoto, Miss.  The talent scout will invite other acts to participate in the Mid-South Fair as well. The Soybean Talent show is sponsored by WCMT Radio Station and Westview High School Key Club.  The Westview High School Key Club is sponsored by the Martin Kiwanis Club.

The event will be held at Festival Park in downtown Martin Monday evening. In the event of rain, the event will be held in Watkins Auditorium in the Boling Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin.
