Brittany Rich
Activity Director
Last week’s Cover Card winners were Geneva Foster (with two wins), Dorothy Larson, Bobby Bynum, Frances Darling and Doris Bradberry. Each of these lucky winners received $1.
For Thursday’s one-line Bingo, each player received 50 cents and we play until everyone wins. The residents gathered for another game last week as well.
Derby Dice was held Tuesday morning and the winner was Mildred Turner.  Jumbo foam dice are used and residents must race to 30 without going over to win. It is a lot of fun for all to play.
The residents participated in four different sporting events last week.
Ray Crowell was the big winner of Ring the Chicken’s Neck with 40 points. He also took first place honors in Velcro Ball with 725 points.
His runner-up was Bobby Bynum with 625 points.
Giant Tic-Tac-Toe Toss was a very close game.  Mildred Turner finished with six completions and Mag Yeargin was right behind her with 5.
Leola Rawls took first place honors at Lawn Darts, with Bobby Bynum in second.
On Monday afternoon, the ladies gathered in the activity room for fingernail painting.
After picking their favorite shades, everyone gets their nails polished to perfection. Our in-house beauty shop is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays. By the end of the week, everyone is looking top notch.
For last week’s social hour, the residents selected rainbow sherbert. It was a nice, light treat that gave the taste buds a little zing with the sweet.
Later that afternoon, Mrs. Opal Pentecost invited the residents to celebrate her birthday with a large watermelon party. Everyone had a wonderful time.
Each morning residents are given the opportunity to attend a devotional service. It is non-denominational and a wonderful way to start the day.
Siloam Baptist Church provided the Wednesday evening worship service for our residents.
Sunday morning programs were provided by Dresden First Baptist Church and Macedonia Church of Christ.
These services are always wonderful and so well received by the residents.
Thank you all for giving of your time.
