Arrington to address museum association

MILAN — Dr. Larry Arrington, chancellor of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, will present the keynote address for the 30th annual West Tennessee Agricultural Museum Association Membership Banquet. The event is set for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 in the museum auditorium. Following the dinner, a brief business session will include the election of officers and trustees. Blake Brown, director of the UT AgResearch and Education Center at Milan, will present an update on various activities of the museum during the past year, including last year’s Fall Folklore Jamboree. Thousands are expected to attend the 2012 Fall Folklore Jamboree, planned for Oct. 20. The banquet is open to the public; however, reservations for the meal must be made by Friday by calling (731) 686-7362 or 686-8067. Cost of the meal will be $10 per person. Membership dues to renew or join are $10. The West Tennessee Agricultural Museum is located on the UT AgResearch and Education Center at Milan on U.S. 70/79 (Atwood Highway) at the city’s eastern limits.
