UC man charged

A Union City man has been charged in connection with an alleged break-in where a woman claims she was assaulted.
Ike Brown Pettigrew, 49, of 200 Nash St., Union City, was arrested at 1:24 p.m. Saturday at his residence and charged with aggravated burglary, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The charge stems from an incident that allegedly occurred early Saturday morning at Tracy K. Thornton’s home at 421 East Church St., Union City. Ms. Thornton, 42, told police a black man forced open the back door of her residence overnight and then assaulted her.
After some investigation, police located Pettigrew and he was arrested and transported to the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex.
The incident remains under investigation.
