A suspected vehicle burglar was eventually caught in Martin Tuesday, after he reportedly passed out on the side of the road. Officers with the Martin Police Department were called to an apartment on Brooks Drive early Tuesday morning for a report of a possible vehicle burglary. Witnesses told officers a white male with neck-length hair was spotted sifting through the victim’s truck. The victim and witnesses reportedly chased the suspect to Mt. Pelia Road. A check of the area near Mt. Pelia Road led to the discovery of 50-year-old Andrew Blakemore of Martin. According to a report, Blakemore was found passed out near the bridge close to Crawford Drive. Officers apparently detected a strong odor of alcohol on Blakemore. He reportedly took two Sonic cards and a flashlight from the vehicle. He was charged with burglary, theft and public intoxication.
