UCHS baseball tryouts set for Sat. morning
Tryouts for next season’s Union City High School baseball team will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 at Elam Stadium.
All players — including those who were on the Tornado squad this past year — must try out, according to UC head coach Jeremy Maddox.
Prospective players should dress according, in baseball pants, sleeves and a hat.

Blisting 10-under par
wins PMCC scramble
Poplar Meadows Country Club held its weekly scramble Wednesday with the winning team shooting 10-under par.
The top group included John Hale, Don Lyerly, Houston Haag, Terry Simon and Ken Garrigan.
Placing second at 7-under was a team that included Sydney Chappell, Jim Baker, Amos Davis, Greg Dunn and Tiger Haag.
The scramble, which is held each Wednesday, is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and includes dinner.
