Renegades set
tryout dates
The West Tennessee Renegades 10U baseball team will hold tryouts for the fall 2012 and spring 2013 season 10 a.m. both Aug. 4 and Aug. 11 at Graham Park in Union City.
To be eligible, a players cannot be 11 years old before May 1, 2013.

Bombers baseball
looking for players
The West Kentucky Bombers 14U baseball team will hold tryouts for its 2012-13 tournament team Aug. 18-9 at the Mayfield Recreation Field.
The tryouts begin at 10 a.m. both days.

Grizz travel team
forming in Milan
The Grizzlies 13-year-old travel baseball team will conduct open tryouts Aug. 4 at the Milan Babe Ruth field in Milan City Park.
Tryouts will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Scorecard playoff
decides Wynridge
A scorecard playoff was needed to determine the winner Wednesday in the weekly Wynridge Ladies Scramble.
With two teams shooting an even-par 36, the threesome of Janis Garrigan, Jackie Russell and Kathy Barker claimed the top spot.
Finishing second was the team of Dino Nerren, Cathy Hall and Charlotte Hall.
Under-par team
wins at Hickman
The top team in last week’s Hickman Country Club ladies scramble was the only group to shoot under par.
Wanda Brown, Sandra Cobb and Linda Moore combined to fire 2-under for the event.
Two teams tied for second place at 1-over — Dino Nerren, Janis Garrigan and Jacque Lethcoe in one group and Arnell Goodwin, Laurie Higdon and Beverly Yates in the other.
Nerren was closest to the pin on No. 8.
The weekly event played host to 15 golfers.
Martin men’s league
seeking sponsors
The Martin Men’s Independent Fall League is preparing to open the 2012 season on Aug. 20.
