Dresden Senior Center news

Gail Rogers
Director
The Weakley County Office on Aging/Dresden Senior Citizens Center has been very busy for the past few weeks.
It is budget time and we have had several meetings with county commissioners.
We are  funded by the county, federal, state and United Way.
We are very appreciative of the funds that the United Way has provided us this year so we can continue to provide much needed meals on wheels for the elderly throughout Weakley County.
The Weakley County Office on Aging provides Respite/Homemaker Service for the elderly in Martin, Dresden, Sharon, Greenfield, Gleason, Dukedom, Palmersville, Sidonia and surrounding areas. This is a much-needed service that helps our seniors remain in their home environment longer.
We are also  proud to announce that we are now a partnership with the TN ship program and we are available to help anyone that has questions concerning their Medicare Part D (medicine). Just give us a call at (731)364-5678 and we will be happy to assist you.
We would like to invite everyone to come to the Dresden Senior Citizens Center and join in all of our fun activities.
Check out our trips as well as all in-house festivities. We also have day trips at least twice a month.
If you would like to be on our mailing list to receive a calendar or newsletter just call us.
There is something for everyone.
We would like to invite you out to a new activity that we are starting on Monday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m...it is called “Pickers and Grinners Bash.” Various entertainers will be joining us. Finger foods will be served. If you want to join the fun and socializing just come on out. This will be a monthly activity the second Monday of each month. We are looking forward to seeing you.
The Dresden Senior Center is hosting a KaLightoscope Christmas as The Galt House in Louisville, Ky., Dec. 3-5 with Brantley Bus Line. For more information please call us at 364-5678. This will be a very entertaining trip that you won’t want to miss.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week. Published in The WCP 7.24.12
