Benefit set in Hornbeak

Hornbeak Baptist Church, located at 207 Short St. in Hornbeak, will have a meal and auction July 28 to benefit Debbie (Hopper) Jordan, who is having a liver transplant.
The meal will start at 5 p.m. and will include a hamburger or hot dog, chips, slaw, a drink and dessert. The auction will follow at 6. The recommended donation for the meal is $5 or more. Everyone is invited, a spokesman said.
