Man found naked; faces meth charge
A man was arrested on drug-related charges after being found naked Tuesday in the back of a cabinet shop near Martin.
Eric Lee Lewis, 35, of Martin was taken into custody following an alleged incident at a shop on Shady Grove Road just outside Martin, according to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area after a caller reported a naked man in the back of the cabinet shop. Lewis was allegedly found naked and hugging a fan.
Lewis allegedly stated he had been swimming and had gotten hot.
His car was discovered about a mile down the road, hidden behind bushes at a vacant house. Deputies found several meth-making items — including homemade gas generators commonly called blow-off bottles, peeled-open lithium batteries and coffee filters — on the ground around the outside of the car, as well as coffee filters and a hypodermic needle in the passenger compartment of the car, the sheriff’s department reported.
Lewis was charged with indecent exposure and manufacture of methamphetamine.
His vehicle was towed and will be seized by the sheriff’s department. Published in The Messenger 7.18.12
