Nature study scheduled at Reelfoot Lake Saturday
A water garden nature study has been planned at Reelfoot Lake from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.
The nature study will be conducted by West Tennessee regional interpreter David Haggard and Robin Wooten with the Tennessee Natural Areas program.
Reservations are required for the event, which is free and open to the public. Those planning on participating in the nature study should call the Reelfoot Lake Visitors Center at (731) 253-9652.
“Join us for a rewarding morning to view and learn about the flowering plants which call Reelfoot Lake home during the summer months,” a news release states. “We will drive and walk short distances to edges of the lake where we can study and see a multitude of water flowers and plants growing in and around the lake.”
The tour is expected to last about four hours and participants are encouraged to bring their cameras, field guides, a hat, sunscreen, water, snacks and water shoes.
For more information about the nature study, contact Haggard by email at David.Haggard@tn.gov or Wooten at Robin.Wooten@tn.gov. Published in The Messenger 7.16.12
