Students and faculty at Martin Primary School will be greeted by a new face in August when school is back in session.
Athalia Donaldson retired from her post as the school’s principal at the end of June. Since that time, Weakley County Director of Schools Randy Frazier had been busy conducting interviews in search of Ms. Donaldson’s replacement.
Ms. Donaldson had served as Martin Primary School’s principal for the last six years.
On Monday Frazier announced Martin native Tracey Bell would taking over at the school.
Ms. Bell was a teacher at Martin Elementary School from 1996-2005. She began her administrative career at Milan Special School District in 2006. She served as assistant principal at Milan Elementary School for three years.
In 2009,  Ms. Bell was named principal at Milan Elementary and has served in this role the previous three years.
“We are excited have to have Ms. Bell back in Weakley County and look forward to continued success at Martin Primary School,” Frazier said.
Students across the county will register for school Aug. 3.
School begins Aug. 8.
