Wreck yields charges

Posted: Tuesday, July 10, 2012 4:00 pm

Several charges were levied against a Union City woman after her car left a parking lot and came to rest upside-down in a ditch Sunday night.
Kimberly Ann Rhoades, 47, of 1101 South Ury St., Union City, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. on charges of second-offense driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license, according to a Union City Police Department report.
She was also issued citations charging her with no insurance and violation of registration.
Police responded to a motor vehicle accident where a car had left the parking lot of Hospitality House in the 1200 block of West Reelfoot Avenue and ended up upside-down in a ditch. All of the occupants were out of the car when police arrived and were reported to be in a van on the parking lot, with no one injured.
The driver, later identified as Ms. Rhoades, was allegedly unsteady on her feet and was not able to stand or walk on her own, according to the report. Police said she refused medical attention and was placed under arrest. Published in The Messenger 7.10.12
