Lindy’s tabs Racers’ QB All-America

Posted: Wednesday, July 11, 2012 12:00 pm

The preseason accolades are beginning for Murray State quarterback Casey Brockman as the senior was named a First-Team All-American by Lindy’s Magazine.
Also, the publication ranked the Racers 18th in its preseason poll.
Following the 2011 season, Brockman was honored as a Third-Team All-American by The Sports Network and Associated Press, while also finishing 11th in the voting for the Walter Payton Award.
Brockman enters his final season as a Racer poised to become the school’s all-time leader in attempts, completions, touchdowns and total offense.
He re-wrote the record books in 2011 by going 316-for-477 for 3,276 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Brockman added 211 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, while also catching a pair of touchdown passes.
He set MSU and OVC single-game records for completions (45) and yards (600) while also tying his own record with seven touchdown passes in a victory over Tennessee State last season.
Brockman closed out his junior season by throwing for a pair of touchdowns, rushing for one and adding a receiving touchdown in the victory over Southeast Missouri.
