Robilio takes helm of WCPC
Robilio takes helm of WCPC | Catherine Robilio, Weakley County Prevention Coalition

Catherine Robilio
Representatives of the Weakley County Prevention Coalition said they are pleased to announce Catherine Robilio has joined the coalition as it’s new program coordinator.
Ms. Robilio earned a Bachelor of Science in social work from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Science in social work with a concentration in management, leadership, and community practice from the University of Tennessee.
As former editor of the Hickman County Gazette in Clinton, Ky., Ms. Robilio said she is looking forward to using her unique combination of social work and media experience in an effort to connect with local residents, organizations and associations who share the common goal of building the Weakley County community into a healthier and safer place to live.
She said she plans to continue the hard work of the WCPC, formerly the Weakley County Alliance for a Safe and Drug Free Tennessee, and is dedicated to helping serve the county by promoting programs that keep your community safe and drug free.
“We are working to bring the community together in an effort to strategically and comprehensively address one of the largest issues facing our county today,” said Ms. Robilio.
Substance abuse is a noted problem in Weakley County and is a contributing factor to the county’s crime rate. Illegal drug use is also reported to be a contributing factor to violence, higher health care premiums,  child abuse/neglect, mental illness, and poverty.
“By addressing factors in the community that increase the risk of substance abuse – and promoting the factors that minimize it – substance abuse by youth and, over time, adults, will be reduced, creating a healthier and safer environment for us all,” she continued.
“The coalition is uniquely positioned to identify and bring about needed changes with help from the community. If you care about the future of our community, you are encouraged to get involved with the WCPC. Your involvement and input could help change the lives of our youth,” Ms. Robilio added.
Anyone and everyone in Weakley County is encouraged to contact the coalition to learn more about ways to help.
It’s time to get involved.
