The annual Obion County Family and Community Education Clubs’ Dress Revue was held recently, with first- and second-place winners advancing to the Western Region Mini Conference on July 27 at the Regional University of Tennessee Extension office in Jackson. Joyce Taylor and Jane Fisher worked garment registration. Members constructed and or modeled 18 garments or accessories. The day began with a Civil War artifact demonstration by Nadine Killion of the Crystal FCE Club. Judging began at 10 a.m., with Brenda Winstead of the Weakley County FCE Clubs serving as judge. Everyone enjoyed lunch out and returned to model their garments. Cash prizes were awarded by county council treasurer Diane Johnson. Nancy Tankersley of Mason Hall won a door prize of scissors made for arthritic hands. Refreshments included cake decorated in FCE colors and punch made by Mason Hall FCE Club members. Decorations were made by Frances Allen and Nettie B. Moore of Mason Hall FCE Club.
