The Messenger 06.20.12

By CHRIS MENEES
Staff Reporter
Thirteen more indictments — 11 of them drug-related — have been revealed from the June term of the Obion County grand jury.
A list of indictments was disclosed last week by Obion County Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson and arraignments were held Friday for those indicted.
The June term of the grand jury convened June 4 and handed down a total of 46 indictments charging several suspects with various criminal offenses.
When the list was disclosed last week, 13 of the indictments remained sealed, or secret. Those indictments were made available Tuesday at the court clerk’s office.
The additional indictments include:
• Shaun Lynn Bondurant and Teresa Gail Lindsey — two separate indictments for sale of a controlled substance.
• David Ray Eaves — three separate indictments for sale of a controlled substance
• Jesse Wade Glover — sale of a controlled substance.
• Deanna Sue Powers — two separate indictments for sale of a controlled substance.
• William Douglas Smith — sale of a controlled substance and casual exchange.
• William Douglas Smith — sale of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.
• Charles Lathan Dean Jr., Tommy Dewayne Griffin, Bennie Armstead Smith, Hulen Leaon Thompson and Sandra Jean Walley — initiation of process to manufacture methamphetamine, manufacturing of a controlled substance and promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing (all); promotion of methamphetamine (Griffin and Walley only).
• Charles Lathan Dean Jr., Cory Allen Goodman, Tommy Dewayne Griffin, Bennie Armstead Smith Jr., Sandra Jean Walley and Sarah Elizabeth Street — aggravated burglary and theft.
• John Edward Cochran — two counts of fraudulently altering a serial number.
Of the 46 indictments handed down by the June term, 22 of them included some type of drug-related charge.
Topping the list of indictments was an attempted first-degree murder charge placed against Michael Jason Pollard, 38, of Union City, who was arrested in February in connection with an alleged break-in and altercation at a home on East County Home Road in rural Obion County. He was also indicted for aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
