Charles “Chuck” Akers Jr., 58, of South Fulton died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
He had worked for the past 24 years at Sara Lee in Newbern, where he was a lead, and had lived in this area most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Archie) Akers of South Fulton; two daughters, Niki McBride of Union City and Ashley Akers of Jackson; two grandchildren, Aiden McBride and Layla McBride, both of Union City; his mother, Mary (Gatton) Akers of South Fulton; and three brothers, Phil Akers, George Akers and Mike Akers, all of South Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Huffman Akers Sr., and a sister, Pamela Akers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with interment in the Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 8 a.m. until the funeral hour.
