UC council to meet

The Union City city council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building with a public hearing preceding the regular session. The public hearing will involve an ordinance amending the city’s zoning ordinance and an amendment to the city’s appropriations ordinance.
On the agenda for the regular meeting is the final reading of the ordinance amending the city’s zoning ordinance from the public hearing; first reading of the amendment of the appropriations ordinance from the public hearing; consideration of an audit contract with Alexander, Thompson, Arnold; a planning service contract with the Northwest Tennessee Development District; a THDA home contract presentation; consideration of an asphalt bid and salvage bids for a 2000 Dodge Ram; a request to close a section of Ford Street on June 23; and a review of the Union City Planning Commission’s May meeting.
Also on the agenda will be rural fire report and a fireworks ordinance update.
The meeting is open to the public.
