New programs slated
The Messenger. 01.24.08 New programs have been added at the Obion County Office on Aging at the Eddie Cox Center, according to director Margaret (Shannon) Cook. A low-impact exercise program is set for Fridays at 11 a.m., with Jeana Berry of Martin leading the “Exercise With Jeana” class. Ms. Berry is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she studied Health and Human Performance and concentrated in the area of sports management. Ms. Berry is excited about the opportunity to help others through the senior physical fitness program. Golden Oldies, taking place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and Fit Forever classes, set for 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Health Quest facility on East Reelfoot Avenue, will continue. Beginning Feb. 19, art classes will be offered the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Stacy Gill and Jean Jackson will be the instructors. A Senior Valentine Party will be staged Feb. 13 at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Matt Harris will be the guest speaker and the meal will be catered by Another Thyme by Sandy. Tickets are $7 and will go on sale Feb. 1. They may be purchased through Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. For more information about any programs, call 885-1246.
