A Union City man was taken into custody early today for a protection order violation after allegedly entering a local woman’s home. Frank Bernard Boykin, 38, of 731 East Vine St. was arrested at 12:03 a.m. today at a residence on West Jackson Street on charges of order of protection violation and aggravated burglary, according to a Union City Police Department report. Police had responded about 11:55 p.m. Thursday to a residence in the 100 block of West Jackson Street after the resident contacted police and alleged Boykin was at her house, also explaining that she has an order of protection against him. Officers arrived to find the woman inside her vehicle parked in the yard and she claimed Boykin had broken into her house. Upon finding that the police department had a copy of a temporary order of protection signed Tuesday, officers entered the house through the front door, which was barricaded by a couch and Boykin, according to the report. Police reported he had already broken a hasp that was padlocked on the outside. Boykin allegedly had a small kitchen knife in his pocket and a wooden baseball bat on the couch, police reported.
