Hunter Hynds Unit has recent meeting

Posted: Thursday, March 3, 2011 4:32 pm

The Messenger, March 3, 2011
Hunter Hynds Unit of United Methodist Women met recently at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, with 12 members present.
President Chris Cheatham gave the welcome and Becky Barnes led the prayer that focused on concerns and joys reported by members of the group.
Mrs. Cheatham led the group in repeating the Purpose and Sandra McTurner presented the prayer calendar.
A letter was read from Laura Wells, a former church and community worker. Emily Haynes presented the minutes and Leanne Parnell gave the treasurer’s report.
Kathy Forrester offered the Esther Moment. Mrs. Parnell will present Chapter 5 of the study in March.
Mrs. Cheatham introduced the program, “For the Love of God: John’s Letters.” Participants included Roberta Peacock, Linda Winstead, Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Haynes.
The goal of the program was to present the message of love in John’s letters and reflect on how love is the foundation for community, relationships and the work done together as women in mission. Jenny Darnall presented Valentines entitled “True Love” and based on John 3:16.
The March meeting will be Wednesday at 7 p.m.
