Tennessee’s 2010 sales tax holiday is set for next weekend, Aug. 6-8, offering three full days of tax breaks for Tennessee consumers.
This long weekend of savings will offer tax-exempt purchases on items including selected clothing, school and art supplies and computers.
Reagan Farr, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Revenue, explains more about Tennessee’s tax holiday this August. More details about the August holiday are available on the state’s dedicated Sales Tax Holiday Web site: www.tntaxholiday.com.
Tax-exempt purchases include clothing with a price of $100 or less per item, school and art supplies that cost $100 or less per item and computers priced at $1,500 or less.
“With many day-to-day expenses increasing, the sales tax holiday is an excellent opportunity for Tennesseans to purchase these items tax-free,” Farr commented.
“Every Tennessean can benefit from the tax-free holiday.
