Two students from Obion County are among 10 chosen to receive scholarships awarded throughout West Tennessee by the Cancer Care Centers of Jackson, Dyersburg, Paris and Union City through its 2010 college scholarship program.
Carson Castellaw of Obion County Central High School and Steven Gossett of Union City High School were each chosen as recipients.
The Cancer Care Center hosted a banquet at the Jackson Country Club last month to honor this year’s scholarship recipients.
The other high school seniors who received scholarships were Katelyn Massie, Dyer County High School; Madison Moody, Henry County High School; Leah Page, Chester County High School; Tyler Porter, Peabody High School; Shelby Priddy, Henry County High School; Cassie Sheets, Madison Academic High School; Katherynne Taylor, Dyersburg High School; and Kayla Todd, Madison Academic High School.
“Cancer Care Center is committed to providing state-of-the-art cancer treatment technologies to patients throughout West Tennessee. We also strongly support the educational advancement of area youth,” said William D. Permenter Jr., M.D., radiation oncologist of Cancer Care Center.
For more information about the center or the scholarships, visit the Web site www.cancercarecenter.org or call 1-800-870-5471.
