| Burglars nab guns, target rural areas |

A home on Old Latham Road outside of Dresden was the recent target of a burglary. During the incident, three guns were stolen along with other valuable items. Deputies were dispatched to the home Sunday, July 5 to discover two .22 caliber pistols, one with a silver handle and the second with a pearl handle; a .45 caliber muzzle loader handgun; a 27 inch Phillips plasma television, a Playstation® 3 and coins were reported missing from the rural residence. On Wednesday, July 1, deputies responded to another rural theft on Garrett Road outside of Gleason. Items reportedly taken from the home include two Playstation® games, a child’s teddy bear, children’s clothing, nursing uniforms and two board games. In a third incident, WCSD deputies took a report of theft at a home on Kirkland Road outside of Martin on Monday, June 29. Several handyman items were reported missing from the property including an 8-feet ladder; Dewalt chop saw; diamond tip saw blade; a Makita table saw; a 600-feet extension cord; four faucet sets and various tools.
