Lael SS Class has meeting at UC FBC The Messenger, July 22, 2010
Lael Sunday School Class met at the family life center of Union City First Baptist Church for the July meeting.
Faye Passmore, class president, opened the meeting with prayer. Members repeated the Pledge of Faith: “God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. I am who God says I am. I can do all things through Christ. God’s word is alive and active in me. I’m believing God.” Read More ...

Revival to begin
There will be a general assembly revival at Anointed Church of the Living God, with Bishop Barbara Bolden. The theme will be “The Perfect Storm.”
Services will begin this evening at 7 and continue through Saturday. On Sunday, services will be at 11:30 a.m.
Thursday’s speaker will be Micheal Carr; on Friday, Bishop Rheba McAfee and Stephanie Marshall will be the speakers. Bishop Rachel Carr will address the church Saturday and on Sunday morning, Joanne Cain, Eni Carney and Bobby Lockridge will bring the message.

Throughout his life as a Dutch Protestant, Kuyper was a “strict orthodox Calvinist” and displayed his religious fervor in many resourceful ways. First United Pentecostal Church on Edwards Street in Union City will have a street service at Kiwanis Park Saturday. Registration will begin at 2 p.m., with the service set for 3-5. The theme will be “The Word Is Alive,” and there will be music and a message, plus giveaways, including 150 backpacks with school supplies for area children. Read More ...

Charles Spurgeon, a 19th century British Particular Baptist preacher, remains highly influential among many Christians today. Spurgeon was an evangelical Calvinist who read widely and who especially loved the 17th-century Puritans.
Spurgeon pastored the congregation of the Metropolitan Tabernacle (formally The New Park Street Chapel) in London for 38 years. In accordance with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, written by Particular Baptists who held to a Calvinistic soteriology, Spurgeon defended the church against liberalism and pragmatic theological tendencies.
