Dresden Duplicate 11-17 Dresden Duplicate Tuesday Night Bridge Club met on Nov. 10 with 14 members and one gentleman, Richard Johnson of Martin, present.
Hostesses for the evening were Lynda Shannon of Dresden and Sarah Alexander of Martin. Lynda made her famous and delicious chili. She used three kinds of beans and has her husband, Robert’s recipe. Robert also had a wonderful white chicken chili recipe. She made three kinds of cornbread, muffins, corn sticks and corn pones, all with a Mexican twist. Sarah Alexander cheesecake pie slices. Scarves donated to veterans NEW ORLEANS — In October 2006, The National World War II Museum in New Orleans introduced Knit Your Bit, a national, grass-roots program to produce hand-knit scarves for World War II veterans in appreciation of their service to our country.
Since then, the museum has received an overwhelming response of nearly 10,000 hand-knitted and crocheted scarves from 49 different states and several countries. The scarves have been distributed to VA hospitals and other veteran’s organizations as far away as Hawaii. Read More ...
