The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Visual and Theatre Arts will present the annual UT Martin dance ensemble spring show, “One Singular Sensation,” at 8 p.m., April 28 and 29, in the Student Life Center.  Tickets are $5 for UT Martin students with ID and $10 for adults.
This year’s ensemble, under the direction of Sarah McCormick, lecturer of dance, is a tribute to Broadway with musical numbers inspired by “Chicago,” “Sweet Charity,” “Aida,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Annie,” “Grease,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Stomp” and “Lion King.” Guest artists Christin Lewis from the Memphis Ballet, Bethel University Dance Team and students from Martin Elementary School will also be performing.

Joe Davis, a senior music education major at the University of Tennessee at Martin, will perform his senior tuba recital at 3 p.m., May 1, in Watkins Auditorium of the Boling University Center.
Davis, of Humboldt, will perform works that span form the Baroque Period through 20th century western art music. Composers include Marcello, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Lebedev and Persichetti. The recital will conclude with a performance by a brass quintet of UT Martin music students. The event is free and open to the public.

The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Visual and Theatre Arts will present various student-directed productions at 8 p.m., April 30 and May 2, and at 3 p.m., May 1. All performances will be staged in Room 216 of Gooch Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
On April 30, Adrian Ward, of Memphis, will direct “The Red Coat.” Other performances include “Graceland,” directed by Davida Ambrose, of Memphis, and “Hold for Three,” directed by Coleen Davis, of Pinson.
On May 1, Lizzie Wouters, of Knoxville, will direct “Not Enough Rope.” Other performances include “No Time for Secrets,” directed by Justin Hunt, of Martin, and “Smoke Scenes,” directed by John Nicholson, of Centerville.
