Catherine Mahan

Johnnie Catherine Mahan “Granny” is now celebrating her everlasting life with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 10, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rutherford Jack Mahan Jr.; her parents, Grover and Della (Mitchell) Berryman; three sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Mahan (Elisabeth), Patrick Mahan (Cindy) and Gregory Mahan (Gretchen); her 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Molly Norman; and her two brothers, Alfred Berryman and Leonard Berryman.
Granny was loved by many, she made a difference in so many lives in her 86 years of life. She loved her God and loved to remind people that “God is Good All The Time.”
Catherine was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City, where she sang in the choir and was a children’s Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved her family, gardening, singing and the Lord.
The family would like to express their utmost appreciation for the staff at Spring Meadows Nursing Home in Clarksville for going above and beyond for their love and care for Granny the last two years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, sponsor a front line worker or plant a beautiful flower in her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Brother Brad Boucher will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that everyone wear a mask for the visitation and funeral service.
