Nan Sproles, 91, of Union City, formerly of Mississippi, died Monday, June 22, 2020, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chip Davis and Charles Sproles officiating.
Burial will follow Thursday at 1 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Brad Phelon, Justin Phelon, Benjamin Shute, Phillip Puckett and Gib Sproles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Louis Caruso, Doc Roberts, Roger Dunn and Norman Davis.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on July 3, 1928, in Pyland, Miss., daughter of the late James “Frank” and Tera (Witt) Sykes. On Feb. 26, 1946, she married Thomas Franklin Sproles. He passed away Aug. 11, 1996.
She was a homemaker and babysitter and was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church near Union City.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty (Phillip) Puckett of Union City and Elizabeth Shute of Canton, Miss.; four grandchildren, Brad (Ashland) Phelon of Troy, Justin Phelon of Gore Springs, Miss., Benjamin Shute of Coila, Miss., and Brooke Shute of Union City; and three great-grandsons, Cullen Phelon, Tucker Phelon and Jeremih Young.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Phelon; and four brothers.
