VOLUNTEERING FOR VETERANS

VOLUNTEERING FOR VETERANS — American Legion Post No. 20, with financial assistance from organizations like Magnolia Place Assisted Living Center, purchases flags each year to be placed on the graves of Obion County veterans for Memorial Day. Every year, volunteers are needed to place the flags on the graves of as many local veterans as possible. Among the volunteers who have provided the flags or will be placing the flags on gravesites this year are (above, from left) David Johnson and Rana Buchanan, both of Magnolia Place, Hudson Riggsbee, 10, Henry Riggsbee, 12, and the boys’ grandfather, Allen Nohsey of the American Legion. The Riggsbee brothers, of Oxford, Miss., have volunteered to help their grandfather place flags in local cemeteries, including East View Cemetery in Union City, since they were around 18 months old.
