Edna Holifield

Edna (McCord) Holifield, 82, of Union City passed away 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Signature Healthcare of Ridgely.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Jeff Kenee will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Doug Koon, John Donnell, Gerald Donnell, Jackson Donnell, Rick Wilson and Monty Mooney.
She was born June 21, 1937, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Lester Garrett McCord and the late Helen Irene (Orr) Levister. She was the widow of Jack Holifield, who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1977. She had been employed by Goldsmith’s and Dillards. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hoppe of Pensacola, Fla.; her grandson, Doug Koon of New York City; and her sister, Bernice Shore of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Williams.

    Bernice Shore,
    Edna was still a young woman, too young to pass on, but I suppose she was getting kinda tired of the symptoms she had been experiencing. I believe she has a strong family and I believe each and everyone of you are and will be fine. Your family has a great reunion awaiting you sometime down the line.
