Arlene Yarnell

Arlene Kay Yarnell, age 74, passed away on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 in Martin. The wife of Tom Yarnell, the couple just celebrated 52 years of marriage on Jan. 13, 2020. Born on April 20, 1945 in Bucyrus, Ohio, she was the daughter of Clarence and Esther Rowlinson Miller. She graduated from Mt. Zion School, Arlene held a variety of jobs including a position at General Electric, her own cake decorating business, an Avon representatives, receptionist at Martin Bros. Container and receptionist at Diversicare. Arlene belonged to St. Jude Catholic Church in Martin. She was very active as a board member and volunteer for We Care Ministries, especially with the senior Christmas party. She was a loving “Bram” to her beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Eli. Arlene is survived by her husband; daughter, Michelle (Rev. Stephen) Wood; grandchildren, Hannah and Eli; sisters, Donna Knapp and Linda Jeffries; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Phil Knapp. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Martin. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service, with a luncheon to follow. A private burial will be held at a later date at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Marion, Ohio.
